Zero-Burr Precision Edge Quality & High-Current Collection Architecture

Sumati Precision Photovoltaic Busbars serve as the critical high-current electrical arterial network within ultra-high-efficiency 550W+ to 720W+ solar modules. Sized to carry string currents often exceeding 18–35 Amperes in large-format M10 and G12 wafer architectures, our busbars are fabricated from 99.99% pure Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP) copper (TU1/C11000 grade) with volume electrical conductivity exceeding 101% IACS, minimizing resistive Joule heating ($I^2R$) loss across the module array perimeter.

A key engineering differentiator of Sumati PV Busbar is our precision edge-dressing technology. During high-speed slitting, standard industrial cutters leave microscopic metal burrs and sharp knife-edges. Under the 1.0 bar mechanical pressure and $150^\circ\text{C}$ temperatures of vacuum lamination, sharp burrs can puncture the EVA/POE encapsulant or rear backsheet, causing catastrophic dielectric insulation failure. Sumati incorporates automated mechanical roller-burnishing that radiuses all four edges to a smooth, 100% burr-free profile.

Our continuous hot-dip tinning process deposits a uniform, concentric 15–35 µm solder layer across the busbar surface. Formulated with controlled alloy intermetallic layers, this coating delivers instantaneous flux wetting during automated induction soldering, resistance soldering, and manual torch soldering, yielding robust joint shear strengths (> 35 N/mm²) that effortlessly pass 200 thermal cycling tests ($-40^\circ\text{C}$ to $+85^\circ\text{C}$) under IEC 61215 standards.

Available in custom tailored widths from 3.0 mm to 12.0 mm and thicknesses from 0.20 mm to 0.50 mm with camber controlled below 1.5 mm per meter, Sumati Precision Busbars feed seamlessly into automated stringer lay-up and bussing robots, maximizing overall line OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
